I'm saving for an AP coat, but somewhere I read that brand coats are not really thick or warm, is this true?

I think it depends on the brand and the coat. I’ve heard of some that are very warm and some that are not so warm. I would say that when you have the money you need saved up I would look to see if you can find reviews for the coat you’re looking for, or other coats from the same brand that use the same materials to give you an idea of how it will be.

In winter, would it be fine to wear a nice winter touqe? It's soft and pretty, I could easily imagine it in a winter coord. But I'm not sure because I don't see many lolitas wearing toques.

After googling what a toque is (damn colloquialisms) I would have to say that they are pretty difficult to work into Lolita. They have a very casual look to them so they may work with the right Casual Lolita coord but I wouldn’t recommend them for much else.

Submitted question #622:

Submitted question:

i recently got this coat for the holidays and i really love it, but i was wondering if it would be appropriate to pair with lolita. i would love your advice on it! http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/michael-michael-kors-coat-military-belted-faux-leather-trim?ID=686725&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results this is the coat. thank you so much!

Response from Lolita Tips:

It’s a very nice coat but it wouldn’t work properly with Lolita because of it’s length and shape which wouldn’t fit over a petticoat. It may work if you leave it unbuttoned from the belt to the bottom but that might just look a bit odd.

I have a question regarding wearing coats that match lolita in the winter. I live down south, and most coats are way too heavy for here! All I have is a simple jacket and a leather one, what should I do? :o

Fanplusfriend has some cotton coats that are fairly light, lighter than the wool ones so they might be good options. I’ve also heard that some of Bodyline’s coats aren’t too warm so you could try looking for reviews for some of those. Usually people complain about coats not being very warm but in your case it could be a good thing.
