hey i was wonering if you had any tips for coordinating aatp's sweet devil jsk in ivory with the neck bit attached i love this dress but i can't seem to find a blouse to wear with it with the neck thing attached :(

It can work with a high-collar blouse and you can wear the neck piece over that like you see here.

Hello! I got the Tiered Pintucked JSK by Alice and the Pirates in Wine/Bordeaux recently, and I need a little help with coording. All I have is the Short Sleeve Flower Laced Knit Blouse by Metamorphose in black as a blouse. Do you think that would be okay with the dress or would I have to get another blouse? If it does work, any help with incorporating black without being overbearing? I was thinking black tights, shoes and accessories with touches of wine would be okay.

I think it would be okay but it wouldn’t really be anything fantastic. I think the thing that bothers me about it is how much the buttons stand out and I think they would clash with the buttons on the dress. Perhaps you could cover them up though with a big bow or similar accessory at the neck. I think the best color to use for a blouse would be ivory to match the lace but black could work as well if you were to incorporate black in other ways like you said. Don’t ignore the ivory though when you’re accessorizing. The dress having wine as it’s base gives you a lot of that so I would focus on ivory with smaller touches of wine for your accessories to help balance things out.

I love how you can get such different looks by changing the color of the print!

Submitted question:

I just bought JSK I of Merry Making in the Ghost Town in red, and am trying to put together a coord for (or really, accessories)  For now, I was thinking of either doing a bat or skeleton themed coord, to keep things simple for me, as I’m still fairly new to lolita and not the best at putting accessories together. Since this is my dream dress, I really want to have a nice looking coord with it. Here are my two ideas:

Hair accessory

Of course if neither of these look nice I’m open to other suggestions instead. :)

Thank you!!!

Response from Lolita Tips:

As far as accessories go I really like the bat one. The only thing I would do different (and it isn’t really a change, it’s just adding on) would be to add a full hair accessory that the circlet can be an addition to like a bonnet, half bonnet, floral corsage, veil, something to make it look more Lolita than the circlet alone looks.
The thing I’m not loving about the skeleton one is the tights. I think skeleton tights are fine in some cases, but I feel that in this particular case it would look quite costumey. I do adore the bat tights though.

Hello there! I'm trying to put a coord together for btssb's Guilty Meltin’ Sweets Town Jumper Skirt Ⅱ in Navy & Brown or Black & Black but I'm having some trouble with finding a blouse. Any suggestions?

I would recommend something with a high collar so you don’t have anything distracting from the super cool bat-like neckline of the JSK.

Hi! I was wondering if I could have your opinion… Do you think this bag: in gold, might look good with Merry Making in the Ghost Town JSK II in black? This is the one I have:

If not do you have any tips of one that might work that isn’t coffin shaped? I’m trying not to spend over $50. Thank you so much for your time!

Response from Lolita Tips:

I think that bag would work well. Another option that I thought of that I think would be super cute with it would be a backpack like this. I think the heart shape and the fact that it’s a backpack give it a sort of cutesy feel but then it has the bat wings which I think suit the print perfectly.

I couldn’t wait to wear this wonderful dress. More pictures here~

Hi! I was looking for some socks or tights (preferably tights) that would be good for aatp's Time of the Roses in navy as well as classic lolita in general, what do you recommend? Also, I don't really like heavily printed socks or tights. Thank you very much!

Everyone knows how much I love lace tights and sheer tights with opaque details so naturally I think these in either color they’re available in would be perfect. Other than a simple floral design like that, the best I could think of for someone who doesn’t like heavily printed legwear would be plain navy, cream, or dusty pink tights or socks.

Hey, I recently purchased Alice and the Pirates ‘Guilty Meltin’ Sweets Town Jumper Skirt ’ in black. But I’m having a hard time finding a good blouse. Black is too dark and doesn’t show off the bat straps (which are too good not to show off).
I think a lavender or antinque/rosey-pink would look nice, like in the test I made. Those blouses are either sold out, or won’t fit me though (plus size), and I’m having trouble finding something. Would you have any recommendations? Or another color you think would work?

Response from Lolita Tips:

I think the pink is a really good color for it. I think it really brings out the print and shows off the awesome straps. This one is a little lighter but it may be a good option.
