Submitted question #853:

Submitted question:

Hey, I recently purchased Alice and the Pirates ‘Guilty Meltin’ Sweets Town Jumper Skirt ’ in black. But I’m having a hard time finding a good blouse. Black is too dark and doesn’t show off the bat straps (which are too good not to show off).
I think a lavender or antinque/rosey-pink would look nice, like in the test I made. Those blouses are either sold out, or won’t fit me though (plus size), and I’m having trouble finding something. Would you have any recommendations? Or another color you think would work?

Response from Lolita Tips:

I think the pink is a really good color for it. I think it really brings out the print and shows off the awesome straps. This one is a little lighter but it may be a good option.

What type of blouse would look good with the AttP Cards Queen JSK in Navy? Should I go with something w/o a neck ribbon/jabot since it has the little bow at the chest?

The bow is tiny so if you were to cover it up it wouldn’t be a huge deal. I only recommend avoiding those when there’s a big bow or other big detail on the dress that a bow on the blouse could get in the way of. I think something with a high neck would suit the JSK well, with or without a neck bow.

Hello, I'm thinking of buying aatp JSK Black cat, witch and apple tree in red and was wondering what kind of headdress would go well with it. Eiter a red Bonnet or a black Bow. But I can't really decide which would look better.. All in all I would wear a black lacy blouse and black socks with red shoes, as its my first lolita coord I am a bit nervous. Thank you so much in advance!

Why not both? You could do a red bonnet with a black bow in the brim to pull together both of the colors.

a few more of my weekend coord! I tried to go for an edwardian look with the hat but I don’t think that quite carried into the coord, so maybe next time I’ll amp up the period-specific look a bit! hats ヽ(*¯︶¯*)ノ

jsk, parasol, flower brooch: alice and the pirates
tights, shoes: taobao
shawl, blouse: offbrand
hat: handmade

That hat is amazing!!!

Hi :) i think i've have asked this before, but how could i coordinate aatp's clockwork aristokitty skirt in blue. polyvore(.)com/untitled_77(/)set?id=124736868 is what i had planned so far, i was trying to create a sweet coord.

I’m not sure about the wrist cuffs in that color. Navy or ivory wrist cuffs would be a better choice. Maybe use clock themed jewelry and to really bring in the sweet look you could bring out the polkadots. Sweet shoes in navy and then you could bring the dots in with tights and other accessories like this cute bow.

Out of aatp's Time of the roses jsk I in navy and btssb's sleeping beauty princess aurora jsk in lavender, which would be better for classic lolita?

They’re both gorgeous and would work well for Classic, but based on your color options I think Time of the Roses would be the better option.

Do you think Angelic Pretty's Airy bustier-style blouse (is on their website right now) in black would look good with Vampire Prelude JSK in black? Also underneath Holy Lantern JSK in black - normal not special set? I mean actually look good as well, not just okay :P Sorry I am just bad at picturing it >.< have a lovely day beautiful!!

I think it would look good with both. Due to the way the JSKs are cut I don’t think the bustier part of the blouse will be visible, just the sleeves and collar, so I think it’ll work perfectly.

How would you coord AatP's Etoile blouse in white? I impulse bought it a couple days ago and I'm having trouble finding anything that would go with the neckline :S (Sweet/sweet-ish classic/country)

It would really work with a lot of Classic coords if you were to use a skirt. I think a skirt is definitely the best way to work with the neckline. As far as the rest of the coord goes there are a ton of things you can do really so it’s hard for me to narrow it down any farther than saying it’s best worn with a skirt rather than a JSK.
